Cabin set-up (floorplan) is great for a weekend stay for up to 4 people. Privacy of the location is great. Overall the cabin is very well equipped which makes cooking very convenient for a couple of days. We loved the Christmas decorations. This made our stay even better since we were not expecting anything like that at all ;-) |

What a wonderful cabin. We have had an awesome time. Going home with much more than we came with. Thought we were going to have to rent a u-haul! We love this cabin. Absolutely the best I've stayed in. Thanks for all the notes & directions...absolutely NO questions. Will definitely be back. Quedos to the cleaning staff!! Imaculate! |

The beauty of nature was great and the privacy. Loved seeing the deer and relaxing. West Jefferson was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Beautiful place and peaceful. |

I'm so glad we found this cabin! Being our first mountain cabin experience it was awesome! Love the fireplace, hot tub, starts & quiet solitude. Visited West Jefferson & loved the quaint Christmas atmosphere. The window displays were beautiful! Afterwards took a walk and saw the river and several deer. So nice to be one with nature. Thank you so much for the wonderful mountain experience. I hope to come back soon! |

Enjoyed the quiet down by the river. Camp chairs are an excellent idea. We have had a wonderful day. Horseshoes, yoga by the fire pit, reading by the river, hiking and the hot tub. You do have a beautiful place. |

Our family had a wonderful visit. My husband & I brought our 8 year old son & twin girls (3 years). It was our first time here but we would love to come back. The location was great and we visited some of the shops in town, saw a movie and saw wild horses/ponies at the Grayson Highlands State Park. Some of the closer parks were closed due to the fires. The horses made up for the drive. Everything was perfect. Thank you. |

My husband and I came here to just enjoy the mountains and get away. We stayed here about 5 years ago and now we are married with a 1.5 year old! Crazy how time flies! We love this cabin. It's also great that it's pet friendly. So nice to bring the entire family. Sadly, one of our brood passed away last year - a very old pitbull. He came with us last time and loved rumaging around outside. We explored downtown Boone, saw Blowing Rock, went on the Blue Ridge Parkway and tried all kinds of great restaurants. We also went to Apple Hill Farm in Banner Elk, an alpaca farm that does tours. We got to pet all kinds of animals and see the yarn the farm makes from alpaca wool. We had a great vacation here! |

Our first visit to this lovely cabin but won't be our last. Fall colors were still in abundance and the days were sunny and warm with the nights being cool. The cabin has a warm, welcome feeling and we enjoyed the funny quotation signs here and on the trail to the new river. We visit this are often for it natural beauty and friendly people and will return soon. Our four-legged babies enjoyed staying here also. |

Due to the weather, we weren't able to use the fire pit but did enjoy the hot tub very much. Cabin was just as described and the owners thought of everything. Great location with plenty of privacy and close to West Jefferson. |

We came here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and it was a week of absolute bliss!! We have enjoyed everything - from walks to the river, playing cornhole, grilling, the fire pit, the hot tub, games and just relaxing on the porch. Your cabin has the cozy, comfy feel we love. The leaves are vibrant in color. What a fortunate time to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains on the parkway or even the back roads. It's been a week of perfect weather. Shopping and dining in the area were lots of fun. We just love this area so much. We can't thank you enough for sharing your sweet cabin with us. We have created memories here that will last a lifetime. It's a wonderful retreat, and we would recommend it to everyone. Truly a pleasurable place to stay. |

We liked the ability to get away from everything...and be secluded in the woods. What a great week we had and sad that we had to leave! The isolation, the quiet of the woods...the idea that everything you normally need to eat, sleep and enjoy was there, but in a location that was away from everything. The hot tub is great, the BBQ perfect...we could tune in to the Internet or tune out of the Internet at will. Beds were very comfortable. Be sure and obtain the owner's driving directions and follow them exactly else you'll end up someplace where you do not wnt to be. We carried way too many groceries...the supermarket close by had everything you could possibly want or need. This is a cabin to enjoy. |

We take a trip every year about this time to escape lingering summer heat in Texas. I always do a search for VRBO cabins, as I love to be in the mountains. We try to go somewhere new every year so that we see new sights and visit new places. It will be hard to not go back to Wil-deer-ness as we loved it so much! We love the restaurants that we visited, and since we were there for nearly an entire week we did a combination of eating out and preparing our own food. I loved the well stocked kitchen and as a former Pampered Chef consultant it was fantastic to have top quality 'gear' in the kitchen! The brochures were helpful, but I also did research of my own. It was a little warmer than I like, but at least it was nice and cool at night so the cabin was open to sleep with lovely breezes blowing in. We have lots of deer at our home in Texas, so though we enjoyed seeing deer it is not a novelty. We did hope to see a bear, but no luck! We loved sitting out on the porch each day, enjoying our coffee in the mornings and just relaxing. The town is charming, and we also loved driving over to Boone one day, and a highlight was a pretty drive to Laurel Springs and having lunch at Freebornes. Didn't know what to expect since it is kind of billed as a "biker bar/motor lodge" (I found Freebornes when I did a search of area wineries) - but we LOVED it, the food was great and it was a nice outing. We also visited Mt. Jefferson, and the view was spectacular! We went on a day that it was nice and sunny. Another highlight - we met the owner of Hotel Tavern and he gave us a card for a free appetizer. So we ate there on Friday evening, enjoyed music on the patio and a wonderful dinner. Really too many things to list. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire stay. |

We came here for our 7th Wedding Anniversary. More importantly we came to escape our young children (2 & 4 yrs old) for the first time ever! Having an entire week of alone time for the first time in 4 years was extremely therapeutic & beyond relaxing. The cozy cabin, gorgeous property, and relaxing hot tub certainly added to the experience. We were also able to get in some biking, lazy river tubing, and hiking. Everything here was perfect. As I write this on our last night here we're ready to get back to our babies! We might let them come with us next time...maybe ;-) We had a blast and will be back! We loved it! |

Cabin was absolutely beautiful. Everything you would expect for a cabin in the mountains plus more! Favorite part was the peacefulness, relaxing on the front porch early morning drinking coffee and enjoying cool air. Hot tub in evening very relaxing. Hated to leave! Enjoyed downtown West Jefferson's unique shops and the Cheese Factory. I wouldn't change anything. You guys really have thought of everything. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. This was our first time here, but will not be our last. Love, Love, Love the way the cabin is decorated, so cozy! Hope we can stay longer next time :-) |

Thank you for allowing our family to share your wonderful cabin. We had a great time exploring the area. Unfortunately, due to all the rain we did not get to play in the river much or do much fishing. But we will be back! Your cabin is amazing & we had everything we needed. Loved the hot tub every night and playing games on the deck! We also loved just sitting on the front porch every morning. We also loved the outdoor speakers! Thank you so much for providing so much information. Whenever we had a question, we knew we could just find a little note nearby. Glad we got to see bear & deer the entire time. Thanks again! |

This place is beyone AWESOME! This was our first visit here. It will not be our last. Thank you for providing everything we need! They thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable! We loved this cabin! Beautifully decorated, all the amenities we needed. The hot tub was fabulous. Early morning cups of coffee on the front porch. The hammock, grill and fire pit just added to our stay. We have friends that live in the area so this was a perfect location. Until next time. |

Absolutely Beautiful. Enjoyed every minute from the river to the big porch. Awake to geese flying by. The past 3 yrs have been hard as we did not get to go anywhere. I have had cancer treatments and the radiation and chemo took a lot out of me. We are here to celebrate my recovery and I am in heaven at your cabin. Thank you so much this was a great trip. PS. My family and I stayed in the cabin for a couple of nights on vacation. The location was great. It was secluded, but yet not far from town with plenty of stores. We hiked on the private trail down to the river. The kids really enjoyed making smores at the fire pit and using the walking sticks on our hike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future! |

We loved the tranquility of the cabin and sitting by the river or on the porch enjoying the mountain breeze. This was our first week long, far from home, family vacation ever. We escaped the hustle and bustle of traffic, work, school, etc. To have spent that time nestled in the mountains was harmonious. I can't think of anything to make our visit more enjoyable. Equipped with everything and just enough distance between the business of the town. West Jefferson is absolutely beautiful and just a short 30 minute drive to Boone. We are hoping to come back soon and take in more of that mountain air. This cabin was exactly what our family needed. |

We
have certainly enjoyed our first "mini" vacation in NC.
Everything inside the cabin was excellent, comfortable and
well stocked. There was nothing I needed that was not here.
We preferred home cooked meals to eating out, so having
cooking tools at my fingertips was great. The bed and living/dining
area was so comfortable. Everything was wonderful, we came
home relaxed and refreshed and plan to use the cabin again. We visited the local Fresco churches, explored the cheese factory and other stores in Jefferson. The Barn Quilt Shop was wonderful! Moby loved his walks in the woods and having his treats that were provided, he felt very special. The hot tub was so wonderful for our tired, aching bones. Frank & I enjoyed an afternoon tea and rocking in the chairs; enjoying the mountain air and hearing New River as she hurried on up North. The trees were full of a variety of birds, singing and building their nests, squirrels were scampering about and at least 15 deer were grazing on the top of the mountain. Even the fog was beautiful as it rolled in through the trees after the storm on Monday. Our Bible devotion time was blessed with this gracious setting. Thank you for making your home available to us. |

Another wonderful mini-vaca at the cabin (our 4th or 5th!) It never fails to please. We always leave here 10x more relaxed (minimum!) than when we arrived. This was the first time that we explored the river path and it was amazing! Totally easy to find, not a bad "hike" (good workout though!) and the reward of sitting in the swing gazing out over the river was fantastic. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us again. Although it was a short get away it was GREAT! We didn't see any deer but did have a relaxing 2 days. We loved teh privacy and location. The river walk was gorgeous and especially so in the snow! The walk wasworth it for the view and you can't beat the price for such a gorgeous cabin. What a great place you have! We loved all the notes and information left throughout the property so there were no questions about anything. We will be back! |

When we arrived the cabin was very clean. We also loved that there were dog treats for our dogs. I loved how maintained the trail was to the river. The fire pit was really nice and we were pleased that wood was provided. We loved our time at the cabin and will be back for sure. |
