My family & I came from FL and the trip was everything we could have asked for. We got to experience our first white Christmas. We had the best time playing in the snow & watching it fall from the sky. We got to share experiences with our family we may not get the chance to have again. The cabin was very cozy & clean. We visited Boone & it is a very cute area. It was a blessing to stay in such a nice cozy cabin and experience the wildlife, snow and hiking throughout the property. These memories will truly be remembered for years to come. Brooklynn: I live in FL. My family and I went to visit North Carolina. I got to see snow and got to go to a town too it was the best ever vacation!! I had snow ball fights, build snow men and the cabin was warm and cozy. |

Amazing! The only word used to describe our stay here. This cabin was perfect! I loved every minute. We barely left the cabin. It is super cozy and are already looking to plan our next visit back! We also loved seeing all the deer. I deer watched quite a bit. Also thank you for the birthday goodies! This was by far one of the coziest places that we have stayed in the mountains. We will definitely be booking again soon, can't wait to be back! A+ |

We loved EVERYTHING about the cabin especially the privacy, hot tub, fire pit and the wrap around porch with table and chairs. It was a perfect get away for our family of 4 adults. We loved the hot tub every morning and evening; the fire pit was awesome for the cold mornings and cool evenings! The private river area with swing was so peaceful and calming! The owners, Michael and Donetta are so helpful and very thorough with their instructions and suggestions. The cabin was very quaint and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful place to get away, unwind, and enjoy family!!! Our family is planning to make this an on-going tradition for years to come!!! |

Thank you for a lovely stay! The cabin has everything you could possibly need for a secluded getaway. We spent some time downtown patronizing local businesses. The Rambling Poppy butcher shop is awesome! We also drove to Asheville but enjoyed W. Jefferson better. We plan on coming back in April and we can't wait! |

We have enjoyed our visit to your wonderful cabin. This was our 2nd visit. We went down to the river and enjoyed it very much. Also we did the Linville falls hike. We've seen several deer. We had a fire in the fire pit 3 evenings. Your cabin has everything you could possibly want. |

Thank you Donetta & Michael for a lovely cabin to truly escape & relax. The quiet was amazing. We had everythning we needed. The cabin is very well-stocked, and there is abundant information about how to enjoy the amenities, where things are, and area resources. Donetta and Michael have thought of everything and answered all questions before I could even ask. Total pros!!! Other hosts could learn from their efficiency. We enjoyed coming back here after hiking and exploring. The hot tub is perfect! Shatley Springs breakfast was enough for 3 days, Wow! We really, really enjoyed our stay. Thank y’all so much for making your cabin available. Thank you for everything! We’d love to come back. |

We have really enjoyed our stay here at the cabin! Loved all the scenery with the leaves changing color and falling. This little get-away was very relaxing. We just loved sitting by the campfire and relaxing in the hot tub. I enjoyed winning against my husband in scrabble. This place was perfect. Thanks for sharing your cabin. |

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at this lovely cabin. This cabin is very private in a great location. It is a lovely, cozy cabin that is very well stocked. We hiked down the river path and enjoyed swinging by the river. This is a beautiful area. We drove into W. Jefferson and got to watch cheese being made at the Ashe County Cheese Factory and walked around several stores, had a great hamburger at Black Jacks Pub & Grill. We drove to Boone & Valley Cruces and went into the Mast General Store. The leaves are so beautiful to see this time of year. Thanks for letting us stay at your cozy cabin. Had a great time. |

The place is beautiful, we love the changes. The new shelf in the living room is great for setting things up. The new king sized bed is devine. Thank you so much for letting us stay here. This is our 2nd time at this cabin. Had a wonderful stay. We love the cabin, the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, the privacy, and the amenities. Cabin is very comfy and cozy for either 2 couples/4 adults or 2 adults/2 kids. We really like the area and the town of West Jefferson also. A little strange with the pandemic going on but that is life everywhere these days. Really enjoyed the jacuzzi! Love the fireplaces, wrap around porch, spacious yard, etc. On our next visit we hope to extend our time by a day or two to fully immerse ourselves in this peaceful retreat. Great place...appreciate that such a nice and welcoming place is so near to us...will be back! Thanks to Michael & Donetta for making the cabin available to appreciative renters! |

We had a wonderful time here and we plan to stay with you all again! Clean, organized, comfortable...great place for a romantic getaway. So wonderful to be away from everythning but easily accessible to our favorite places like West Jefferson and Grayson Highland Park. The hot tub was fabulous after a 7 mile hike! Thanks again. |

I love the secluded location. It was very quiet and we enjoyed listening to the rain fall through the trees. It was easy to get down to the river and enjoy an afternoon fishing when the river cleared up and went down enough to be able to wade safely. The cabin is nestled in the woods so we noticed very little noise from off the property. It was also easy to get into town to shop in West Jefferson or a quick trip to Molly Chompers Cidery in Lansing. It's just a great location to stay while in Ashe County. I loved my stay there as I have before. It's just a great cabin and lots of fun with the activity areas around the cabin and across to the river. I'm jealous whenever I'm there. I'd like to have a location like that. You all do great with the activities and the overall upkeep of the cabin. I love it every time. Thanks for the relaxing getaway. As always, it was perfect. |

I had a great time at the cabin and caught a few smallmouth bass and trout too. The river access and the large porches for relaxing outside were the best parts for me. It's a great experience; very quiet and peaceful. One of the best mountain rentals I've ever stayed in. Thanks for sharing your place with others. It's a great spot! |

Wil-deer-ness cabin is a beautiful and cozy log cabin tucked away in a serene tree canopy. Clean and equipped with absolutely everything you need to relax. We were here for the 17 year cicadas which was fascinating. We will definitely be back. Michael and Donetta thought of everything and are wonderful to work with. |

We enjoyed our stay! We enjoyed everything but the best part was sharing the weekend with my son and his wife. We fished, played horseshoes, sat outside in the rockers, watched movies, and even spent several hours playing Uno. The kitchen was very well stocked with every pot and pan and other utensils we needed. It was the perfect family time. It was very quiet, clean, and very organized. It was a great get away, we will definitely come back for another visit. |

It is wonderful how everything is so organized and there are little notes everywhere to help you navigate the cabin. The kitchen has everything you need to make or bake anything you want and I especially liked that it was mostly Pampered Chef stuff! The master bed is sooooo comfortable - you sink right into it and sleep soundly! We loved soaking in the hot tub every morning and evening even though it was pretty cold out - so relaxing! We enjoyed several nights by the fire and played horse shoes a lot. We enjoyed the peace & quiet, as well as the scenic view. This place is an absolute gem and kudos to the owners for making everything so easy! If you want to get away and be in the middle of nowhere - this is the spot! Absolutely loved staying here and would definitely do it again! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! |

We are trail blazers so we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the trails in the area. Insofar as the cabin goes we enjoyed just relaxing outdoors, the rocking chairs, the Jacuzzi and snuggling on the couch. We were pleasantly surprised how well stocked the kitchen was especially the spice rack. We loved the cabin and we were amazed how well you guys thought of everything. We are definitely coming back. |

My husband and I came here for a peaceful #41 wedding anniversary and our adult son was able to join us as he could have his own bedroom/bathroom in the loft. The cabin was very cozy, decorated very creatively and cute. Loved the wrap around porch; fire pit and hot tub looked great, just couldn't use them with the rain but look forward to returning in the fall and getting another shot at it! The cabin is well-equipped for any needs you may have, porch is beautiful, fireplaces were great! The property is pretty, private but not the kind of deep woods remote that make you a little nervous. CHeck-out process fairly simple and straightforward. We really like West Jefferson; we also love Grayson Highlands and the hiking all throughout the area. It's a lovely cabin in a great location, plenty to do inside and around the property. West Jefferson is a nice little community with so many neat little shops, pubs, and restaurants. If you like outdoors and all the types of things that I have described as well as peace & solitude you will love Wil-deer-ness Cabin. And Michael and Donetta were nice enough to leave S'mores kit for us for the anniversary. Sweet! |

The pictures do not do justice to all the small details that are carefully thought out in this cabin. The home owners responded very quickly to questions and were a delight to work with. Our trip was wonderful. We really came to the cabin to disconnect and have some down time from the demands of our everyday life. Although we did not use some of the amenities that were critical in our selection of your cabin, they were there if we chose to use them. We love being outdoors and enjoying campfires so in more favorable weather we would have spent more time outside. In reality, the weather did not matter as we still had the time to unwind. In our busy lives, unwind time is the best no matter what we're doing. I can't think of anything to make it more enjoyable. This trip was what we needed. The hosts were a pleasure to work with and clearly place a high priority on customer service. Thank you for a wonderful stay! |

This is an awesome cabin to stay in for a couple or for a family. Very clean. Extremely cute. Owners were awesome and beyond easy to deal with. Lots of extra hard work put into a "guide" book for the area. Tons of activities to do inside or out to keep all ages entertained. We will definitley be returning. |
